Scholarship & Recognition Pageant

The Miss Teen of America Pageant was founded in 1983 by the late Mr. Warren Alexander, a former educator and pageant director. Designed to help America’s youth reach their full potential, this scholastically based pageant recognizes young women ages 13-18 for their outstanding personal achievements, leadership abilities, and artistic, creative or athletic talents.

Serena Zamarripa

Miss Teen of America 2017

Serena Zamarripa of Palacios, Texas was crowned Miss Teen of America 2017 on November 20, 2016 in Minneapolis, MN. She is currently a freshman at University of Texas at Austin where she is majoring in computer science. Serena is a recent graduate of Palacios High School, where she was ranked first in her class and graduated with a 4.0 GPA. She was the recipient of the TENARIS Student of the Year Award and $60,000 Scholarship. Her future ambitions include becoming a corporate attorney. Serena will receive a prize package valued at over $20,000 and will also serve as an inclusion ambassador for Special Olympics, which is the Miss Teen of America Organization’s charitable alliance.
